Chemical Spill and Splash Control training is essential for ensuring workplace safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance in any facility that handles hazardous materials. Chemical spills and splashes can occur during storage, transfer, mixing,
or disposal of chemicals, potentially causing injuries, fires, contamination, or environmental harm. Chemical hazards commonly found
in the workplace, including corrosive, flammable, toxic, and reactive substances. The session also touches on Malaysia’s key legislation includes the Occupational Safety and Health (Classification, Packaging and Labelling of Hazardous Chemicals) Regulations 1997, and the Occupational Safety and Health (Use and Exposure Standards of Chemicals Hazardous to Health) Regulations 2000. This will include risk assessment, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and labelling and segregation practices and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper waste disposal, reporting, and post-incident evaluation. The training further focuses on emergency preparedness — how to recognize the severity of a spill, and activate response protocols.
